The MET Gin Movement | Pairing of the Month
It’s not a perfect evening without the perfect G&T, but at The MET, we know that the pairing can make the gin experience.
Take our monthly recommendation on the perfect gin garnish pairings to enjoy at home, or in our bar and restaurant.
Gin of the Month:
Dingle Gin
A totally unique Gin, Dingle Gin is created and produced in the Gaeltacht in Co. Kerry – but we won’t hold that against them! The combination of flavour elements comes from a blend of botanicals which features rowan berry from the mountain ash trees, fuchsia, bog myrtle, hawthorn and heather for a taste of the Kerry landscape. There’s something about this unique gin that carries you away and deposits you in the heartlands of the Kerry mountains, close to the earth and exposed to the harsh elements with the mists of the Wild Atlantic in the air, all while you sit cosy and snug in our bar in the heart of Cork city.
There is a certain sense of place and provenance from this Gin which is collected at 70% abv and then cut to 42.5% abv using the purest of water which they draw from their own well, 240 feet below the distillery.
As we ride out the last of the Winter chill in January, there is no gin more fitting to enjoy from the warmth of our bar.
Garnish of the Month:
Fresh Chopped Ginger with Fresh Orange Zest Oils.
Beat off the Winter chill with a zesty ginger and Orange oil garnish – the ginger adds a little kick to this spirit whilst the sweet orange oil balances the heat. Did you know that Ginger also has anti-oxidant and immunity benefits?
